Prestonwood Christian Academy Students Tapped Again This Summer From Hundreds of Schools for Highest Honor at Thespian Festival Nationals (Posted: 07/27/10)
For its second year in a row, Prestonwood Christian Academy (PCA) competed against nearly 300 national high schools and 3,000 students to earn one of the top ten events and the opportunity to perform on stage at the National Individual Events Showcase. PCA was one of only a few private/Christian schools participating in the Festival. The category in which PCA performance group was selected for Showcase was Group Musical, led by PCA student MaryLacey Thomson.
“PCA is very proud of the dedication of these students to their respective arts,” said Pam Hurt, PCA’s theatre director. “Our Group Musical students earned Mainstage for only 10 total events out of over 600 IE competitors from all categories.”
According to Hurt, PCA had 17 students competing in four separate Individual events.
While at the ITS National Festival, PCA students had the opportunity to watch theatre performances from schools across the country, participate in workshops and college and scholarship auditions.
Schools in attendance that expressed interest in PCA students and offered callbacks to students include the Southern Methodist University, DePaul, Wake Forest, Marquette, New York Film Academy, New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts and the Savannah College of Art and Design.
The Hub hours during the school year will be
Monday and Thursday 8:00 to 10:00 a.m., and
Friday will now be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Age of Opportunity: A Biblical Guide to Parenting Teens by Paul David Trip
(appropriate for preteen parents)
There seems to be more and more of a need for solid, biblical advice to address issues that are specific to teenagers, and that is where Age of Opportunity excels. Paul Tripp is refreshingly real, so you never feel that he is preaching at you, and his teaching is so practical that you can immediately apply the principles taught. If you or a loved one has a teen that is engaged in spiritually destructive behavior, the knowledge gained here could enable you to help that child turn toward godly living.
